Hi, I’m Joe, the founder of Henry & Brown Getaways. I’ve always believed that time in nature should be simple, comfortable, and accessible — and that unused land has incredible potential when treated with care. My work focuses on creating sustainable, off-grid stays across Essex that connect people with the outdoors while supporting local landowners. I take pride in building a business that feels genuine, trustworthy, and rooted in respect for the countryside.
My Story
Henry & Brown Getaways began as a vision to bring people closer to nature without sacrificing comfort or sustainability. While exploring the Essex countryside, I noticed just how many beautiful spaces sit quietly unused — fields, corners of woodland, open grassland — all holding potential for something special. That realisation sparked the idea: create low-impact, eco-friendly stays that enhance the land rather than disrupt it.
From there, the mission grew. I set out to build partnerships with landowners, combining thoughtful design with sustainable practice to create nature-led escapes that benefit both the land and the people who care for it. Today, Henry & Brown Getaways is the start of that journey — a business built on transparency, collaboration, and a genuine passion for rural spaces.
